Literacy Learning, Reaching for the Stars 4

Children ReadingThis camp is especially designed for children ages 6- 11 years of age, who love to explore all of the joys of reaching for the STARS! Come expand your reading, writing and literacy knowledge through lots of books, games, technology and arts n' crafts! This camp will have lots of star-based activities and experiences for children who are ready to step out and try some new and innovative activities.

Create stars with fabric, paper, wood, frames, stitchery, needlework, crocheting, sewing on sewing machines and a touch of quilting.  Top all of the wonderful literacy experiences integrated with science and math and creating your own, personal, "I Am A Star" book including our interests, hobbies, favorites and photos of you in action throughout the camp through through photography and daily computer use! Share this book with friends and families. Ready, set. go, the microphones are open for singing, poetry, choral reading, rapping and add a little hip hop, and you will have joined the "Wall of the Stars" in Schindler Education Center, University of Northern Iowa. Daily lunches are a part of the program with an am snack. Just bring your stardom ideas with you to the camp, the rest will be provided!
